Sorry for the early release:
The reject
Chapter one: (to be named later)
I woke up on my living room couch, still wearing my clothes from the day before. I quickly changed into a gray t-shirt and jeans and went outside. After seeing how high the sun was, I ran inside. The clock said 11:23. I was late for the first day of my summer job!!!!! I was supposed to get to my new job as a lifeguard at 10:15!!!
It seemed like an easy job and it paid ten dollars an hour, seeing as bravo beach was so popular.
I left my home in lower Marquee row, using my car I got a month ago. It was used, but not too bad. I made it to bravo beach in seven minutes.
Then I realized something. My brother Doyle at my home before I left.
I decided he probably went with one of my parents to their work.
I got out of the car and ran to my lifeguard tower.
One of my friends in another tower gave me a disappointed look.
Most people knew I wasn’t good at much other than playing the bass. He was the one who tried to change me. He failed. And so I’m the reject I was meant to be: Wulf Aeroangel, age sixteen and three hundred- forty one days. Two weeks until my birthday.
The day went by, nothing even remotely interesting.
I made it home right after dinner, so I ate re-heated steak, and fell asleep, with my alarm set.
I woke up knowing it was Saturday, the most popular day at Bravo beach. I ate a breakfast of Chunky puffs and then drove back down to the beach. I got to my lifeguard tower in perfect time.
After an hour or so of watching the water, sand castles littered the beach, I realized my brother, Doyle, was working on a sand castle with a bunch of other kids on a sand castle a bit to the west of me. It looked a lot more like an enormous mass of sand. He looked at me, smiled, and then ran over.
“How’s it going?” I asked.
He climbed up the ladder into the tower,
“How did you get here?” I asked.
“Sapphire took me, she said she would be back soon.” Doyle answered.
“Ok, are you going to go swimming?” I asked.
“Yeah, I was just about to.” He said.
“Well, see you.” Doyle said, running towards the water.
After a short while, Sapphire’s car pulled up.
“Hi.” She said after coming over to the tower.
